Focus on Better Behavior

Teens and tweens can have a hard time in school where popularity is what most strive for to fit in. Many teens will do things they wouldn’t normally do just to get on the popular kid’s good side like teasing another kid. If you find that the behavior is getting out of control whether they are the leader or the follower here are some things that may help. If they are the follower let them know that you expect them to treat everyone with kindness and respect and they deserve the same treatment from others. They can be friendly to others without catering to every whim of  the leader. If your child is the leader, let them know that it is nice to be well liked but it’s not ok to use popularity to get other kids to do what they want. They should be a good friend and not be mean to other kids.
