The fact is no one can tell you how to do it. Each child is different, and attention deficit or hyperactivity can manifest itself differently in each child. What is common is that the child, whatever their specific symptoms, fails to function in a “normal” environment.

If you want to know how to get a doctor to prescribe ritalin, you won’t find that information here. This site is dedicated to helping parents find non-medical solutions that really work, for dealing with THEIR child. But they have to be WILLING to actually DEAL with them, and not just want to put the responsibility for fixing it off onto someone else.

The sooner you begin to intervene with training a child to compensate for attention deficit, the better. You have more options early on than you do later, and you can make more progress if you catch it early.

There are very real strategies to help to deal with it. You won’t make it go away. But you really can teach your child how to function in spite of it, and how to find the gifts that are included that may get overlooked if you focus only on getting rid of the problems.

Our goal is to help you find ways to bring out the best in your child, and to help them to work around their challenges.
