Choosing a school for your child can be the most difficult task you’ll face as a parent. No matter what stage they are in there is a lot to think about when choosing the best place for them. Play based school are used mostly in preschools and early childhood programs. It’s loosely defined by allowing kids to explore their imagination and encourages social development, self-mastery and conflict resolution. Montessori school have mixed ages and emphasizes individual learning and teachers spend most of their time observing. Waldorf takes a more natural approach not allowing TV, computers or video games focusing on the natural world where children’s imaginations keep them entertained. A cooperative school involves parents into the classroom allowing them to participate in their child’s education. Understanding your child’s needs will make this choice a lot easier.
