Don’t be an Over-Controlling Parent
December 2nd, 2007 by admin
Recently, there was an article in the Telegraph newspaper about parents who are concerned about controlling the way their children eat or don’t eat. When a parent puts too much emphasis or worry around their child’s eating they set up a situation where the child takes the position of “you cannot tell me what to do”. The best what to approach eating, potty training and other issues that a parent cannot control is to ignore the behavior so that the child doesn’t get undue attention from doing it.
