There is a good book out there for single parents, The 7 Pitfalls of SIngle Parenting by Carolyn Ellis. It talks about divorce being a major transition and how to prepare for it. Carolyn herself has made several of the same mistakes and shares her experience so others can save themselves from the same fate. The book talks about positive proactive measure parents can take. The theme is thriving and being able to handle the behaviors of the children and moving past them to raise healthy, confident, capable kids.
